What's Up Wednesday 5/31/17

I can't believe how fast May has flown by! It's been a busy and fun month. Today is What's Up Wednesday with Mix and Match MamaThe Larson Lingo and Sheaffer Told Me To.

1. What we’re eating this week

Monday we went out and did some hiking and visited a park about an hour away so by the time we got back we ended up having frozen pizza and salad for dinner.

The rest of the week we'll probably have

I'm not sure what else since we will probably be at a tennis match one afternoon and have tentative dinner plans with friends another.

2. What I’m reminiscing about

The nice long weekend we just had. Is it time for another one yet??

3. What I’m loving
Spending time with the hubby, planning some vacation time and other fun activities for the summer.

4. What we’ve been up to
I use the term "we" very loosely on this first one, but this past weekend we were cutting trees. We also did some hiking and a little road tripping.

We've had a little bit of everything going on this month it seems. Graduations, parties, birthdays, holidays, the above mentioned tree cutting, hiking. We've been busy!

5. What I’m dreading
One of my favorite co-workers is leaving us in less than a month. It just won't be the same around here without her. She sends me stuff like this to make me laugh when the day is rough.

Image result for sad because coworker is leaving meme

6. What I’m working on
Still working on clearing the land and designing house plans. Plus work, family, and church activities. I'm also working on planning some vacation time and other trips out of town we have coming up.

7. What I’m excited about
Summer!! It's almost time for swimming.

The beach trips we have coming up this month. Even though they are some work and not all play and they are short, I'm still very much looking forward to them!

8. What I’m watching/reading

Reading my Bible as always.

We watched a little of the Stanley cup finals, which is odd since we are not hockey fans.

We also seem to be watching a lot of the NFL network specials on various super bowl teams and players. America's Game I think it's called. It's actually pretty interesting so I don't mind too much when the hubby stops there. He just comes across it when it's on and we seem to end up watching the rest of the night.

9. What I'm listening to
Variety of music and the sounds of the outdoors whenever possible.

10. What I'm wearing
Shorts and t-shirts when I can. For work just the same old incredibly boring things as always. :)

I did find some great dressy sandals on clearance at JCPenney's a few months back that I am finally getting to wear with the spring weather. They were one of those finds at the end of the season. I think originally they were about $60 and I paid less than $10. Score! They've been pulled out for church and a job interview so far (maybe more on that soon!) and will probably be making an appearance at the summer weddings we have coming up. I actually found them online to show you, but they were still the original price. Bummer! I got them in the champagne color (which was all they had at this particular store) and they have been very comfy so far and go well with lots of things! It looks like they actually come in several colors.

11. What I'm doing this weekend.

I think we have dinner plans with friends on Friday, Saturday will hopefully be good weather so we can work on the land some more and Sunday sounds like it's going to be another day full of church, birthday parties and family time. I'm so happy this is a short week!

12. What I'm looking forward to next month

BEACH, BEACH, BEACH!!!!!

13. What else is new

Well there are maybe a few things in the works, but I can't really share just yet. Maybe I'll have something new to share soon.

Bonus Question: What's your favorite vacation spot?

For just relaxing, I love the Gulf Shores beaches, there is nothing like them.

We love to travel so it's hard picking favorites, but my favorite winter vacation spot would probably be Park City, Utah. We've been a couple of times when we first got married and it is an awesome place to visit. So much to do and see. The scenery is beautiful, food is great, lots of activities or you can just relax by a cozy fire.

I also have to mention Disney World in Orlando as one of my favorite spots too. It's a great place for family trips. There is so much to do and if you know how to plan you can have a great time with both relaxation and lots of activities. I jotted down a few of my tips for doing Disney in this blog post, which I need to update with some photos, but there are some helpful hints there if you're new to WDW.

I'm looking forward to doing lots more traveling though and finding many more favorite spots.
